Sat Nam and Blessings to you!
We have received your registration for Journey into the Heart of Sikh Dharma. We hope this experience will exceed your expectations. I’m looking forward to our journey together with joy and excitement.
YOUR PHOTO PLEASE! Please email a photo of yourself within the next few days, as we will be putting together a photo collage for each class so you can “see” the smiling faces of your fellow students and facilitator. Best if it is a head shot or close up, in as high a resolution format as you have available
During the week of September 9 you will receive the full curriculum for the course in addition to the first assignment, which will be due four days before your first class. Our Sections and Schedules page includes an exact schedule of course dates and presenters.
Here are the first class dates for each of the sections:
- Thursdays, 19-21 CET-Central European Time (1-3 p.m. Eastern US); first class, September 19
- Thursdays, 7-9 p.m. Eastern US time; first class September 19
- Mondays, 7-9 p.m. Eastern US time; first class September 23
Please note that because class times are based on US time, when we turn the clocks back in the fall and forward in the spring in the US, if you live in another country you may be calling in to class an hour later or earlier than your usual time. This website can be helpful in calculating your call-in time.
For the most part, the classes will be two weeks apart. There may be slight variations based on the availability of the presenters and other schedule considerations. Notice that there may be a few classes that are one week apart or three weeks apart, so please check the schedule. There is also a five week break in the winter.
We will do our best to accommodate your first choice of section with the consideration that we must divide the students fairly evenly. Preference for the International classes will be given to those in Europe, Russia, and elsewhere, but there will probably be openings in that section for those in US and other Western countries as well. If you really need to know before the week of September 9 which section you will be in, please let me know what date you need to know by, and I’ll try to accommodate you. We appreciate as much flexibility as you can give us on this.
Before the course starts, please order the book Heroes, Saints, and Yogis, compiled by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa and Guruka Singh Khalsa. This can be ordered from either of these two sources: Ancient Healing Ways or, in Europe, from Sat Nam Versand.
We will also be using excepts from Victory and Virtue – Ceremonies and Code of Conduct for Sikh Dharma, which is available for free online. If you like, you can purchase it from the above sellers as well.
Another wonderful book about Sikh Dharma that we recommend (but do not require) is Sikh Spiritual Practice – The Sound Way to God, by Siri Kirpal Kaur Khalsa.
Blessings to you,
Mata Mandir Kaur Khalsa
